THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK MEN'S HOOPS
Men's basketball sits at 5-1 on the season, with conference play on deck this week. They take on Quincy (3-3) in Fayette on Monday at 7 p.m. Later this week, the Peacocks travel to Missouri S&T (3-0) to challenge the Miners on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., followed by a contest with GLVC newcomer Lincoln (5-1) on Saturday at 3 p.m.

CRACKING THE TOP 25 
Peacock men's basketball squeaked in at the number 25 spot on the NABC Top 25 Poll on Tuesday after an impressive last week of play. This is the team's first time being ranked this season after receiving votes in the previous two weeks. 
 
GLVC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nick Reid garnered the GLVC Player of the Week recognition on Monday after the Peacocks went 2-1 last week with wins over teams who had been receiving national attention. Upper Iowa fell to St. Cloud in a 66-65 decision on Monday, but bounced back with a pair of wins in the Peacock Classic over (RV) Concordia, St. Paul 96-88 and (#18) Southwest Minnesota State 79-78.  
 
Reid played a vital role in the team's two wins at home, averaging 25 points and nine rebounds, with a game-winning block and a block that sent the contest into overtime. Across all three contests, he averaged 21.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks in 36.3 minutes per game to help the Peacocks pick up two wins over nationally recognized opponents. The Central City, Iowa native recorded a career-high 32 points against Concordia, St. Paul.
 
HAULING IN BOARDS
Upper Iowa ranks 5^th in NCAA DII and 2^nd in the GLVC in rebounds per game with 45.17 per contest while being listed 8th in offensive rebounds (NCAA DII) with 16.33 per game.  Nick Reid has hauled in 10.5 rebounds per game, placing him 18^th in total rebounds. Kyle Hrncir has nabbed 22 offensive boards (4.5 per game), listing him 18^th in NCAA DII. 
 
BIG AT THE RIM 
UIU has averaged 5.0 blocks per game and 30 on the season, ranking first in the GLVC and 15^th in NCAA DII. 
 
Individually, three Peacocks are listed in the top five in the GLVC in total blocks; Caleb Delzell is listed first with ten blocks, followed by Nick Reid in second (nine blocks) and Ryan Heise in fifth (five blocks).

Upper Iowa has only one contest the following week as they head to Wisconsin Dells, Wis. to challenge Northern Michigan at JustAGame Fieldhouse on Thursday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m.
