Peacock soccer athletes Florian Deick and Mikalyn Hidde were each nominated as James R. Spalding Sportsmanship award recipients, as announced by the league office of the GLVC.

The GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award honorees are student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing while also demonstrating good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. Both honorees are now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.

Hidde appeared in all 16 games for Upper Iowa, making 15 starts during her freshman campaign. She scored her first career goal in her collegiate debut against Winona State, and was tied for second on the team with three goals on the year. Hidde added an assist in UIU's victory over William Jewell, and she attempted 20 shots with 18 being on target.

Deick appeared in 12 games for the Peacocks with ten starts during his junior season. He recorded the game-tying assist in the 89th minute against Roosevelt and added two shots on goal while anchoring UIU's defensive line.
