Upper Iowa wrapped up the season on the road against the McKendree Bearcats, dropping by a score of 2-0.
Fifth year
Daigo Adachi attempted the first shot on goal in the seventh minute, which was saved by Christian Herluf on the left side of the net. McKendree achieved a better result on their first shot as Adam Reiniger scored the opening goal in the 12
th minute, with Pablo Pola recording the assist. Their second shot on goal was saved by junior
Diogo Cardoso in the 20
th minute, as Cardoso deflected the shot on the bottom right side of the goal. Junior
James Moody recorded multiple shots that sailed just wide of the goal in the 40
th and 44
th minutes, and the Bearcats took a 1-0 lead at the half.
Cardoso made his second save of the game in the 53
rd minute on a shot down the middle. Junior
Florian Deick was able to fire a shot on goal less than a minute later, but he was also denied. In his first start of the season, freshman Eduardo Gomez Montt nearly scored for Upper Iowa in the 69
th minute, but McKendree was able to record the save. With five minutes remaining, Reiniger scored his second goal of the game on an assist from Bailey Winchurch, to seal the 2-0 win for the Bearcats.
