Upper Iowa concluded their home opener with their largest margin of victory in school history, since becoming a division two program in 2005-06. The Peacocks scored 20+ points in all four quarters en route to a 68-point victory over the Northland College Lumberjills by a score of 89-21.
The Peacocks thrived on the defensive side of the ball as they recorded 15 steals and six blocks as a team. Senior
Helen Staley led the team with three blocked shots while sophomore
Ava Privet and redshirt-freshman
Amara Retreage each recorded three steals. The team's defensive presence held Northland to under ten points in all four quarters, and the Peacocks did not allow a single field goal in the third quarter, giving up only one point in the ten-minute span. They forced 34 turnovers which led to 31 points, held Northland to 16.7% shooting, and outscored the Lumberjills 18-0 on second chance points and 19-0 on fast break points.
