Gavin Hershberger followed right behind with 19 points and six assists. Others in double figures were Noah King, who scored 18 points, and Kyle Hrncir, who tallied 13.

The Peacocks shot 52.6% for the game, going 41-78 from the field and 9-28 (32%) from long distance. The Lakers netted 39.8% (33-83) from the floor and went 2-12 beyond the arc.

Upper Iowa started ahead 14-4 four minutes into the contest when the Lakers snapped the streak and went on a 12-0 burst of their own, taking a 16-14 lead with 13:11 remaining in the first half.

Several minutes later, combination scoring from Reid, King and Hrncir put the Peacocks up 26-17 with under 10:00 to go. Roosevelt closed the gap to four (30-26), but UIU scored the next ten to go up 40-26. The Peacocks closed the first stanza with the last six points and led the Lakers 52-32 heading into the locker room.

They improved their shooting performance from 48% in the first half to 56% in the second half. From the arc, Upper Iowa went from netting 29% from long distance in the first half to 36% in the second.
