The Peacock men's wrestling squad was unseeded going into the NWCA National Duals, but prevailed against tough competition and pulled off an eighth-place finish for the 14^th time in the past 16 years. 
 
Upper Iowa went 2-1 on Friday after defeating Ashland (38-4) and Northern State (31-6) after falling to No. 1 seeded University of Central Oklahoma, who took first place at the event for the third year in a row. Their two wins on Friday sent them to the placeholder rounds on Saturday. 
 
The team dropped a pair of duals on Saturday to the University of Nebraska Kearney (29-18) and McKendree University (35-9). The Peacocks battle with the Bearcats again next Saturday in a conference matchup. 
 
The Lopers started off with an 11-0 edge over the Peacocks in their first dual after a win by tech fall and Upper Iowa leaving 133 open. UIU rallied off four straight wins to take an 18-11 lead, but ended up dropping the next four matches. The Peacocks dropped a couple of tight matches, as Colter Bye (184) lost in the tiebreaker round and Cameron Lopez (197) fell in sudden victory. Jordan Baumler had a chance to advance the team to the fifth-place match, down 23-18 with the 285-bout remaining, but got caught trying to make a move, leading to an over extension that led to him getting pinned. 
 
UIU collected two wins over the Bearcats, while leaving 133 and 165 open. Jackson Rolfs defeated Joshua Ramos by decision at 149, while Baumler pinned Caleb Guise at 285 in 43 seconds to end the afternoon on a high note. 
 
Luensman went 4-0 over the weekend, with a win over No. 8 Hunter Jump (Central Oklahoma). James Davis was perfect over the weekend, going 3-0 on the first day of competition and aiding his team in advancing to the placeholder rounds. 
 
Tate Murty, Eric Faught and Bye each recorded three wins and one loss. Murty dropped to No. Dylan Lucas (Central Oklahoma), Bye fell to No. 4 Billy Higgins (Nebraska-Kearney) and Faught lost to No. 3 Gabe Johnson (Central Oklahoma) in sudden victory. Over the weekend, Murty bested the No. 5 Nick James (Nebraska-Kearney) and No. 13 Braydon Mogle (Northern State), while Bye trumped No. 5 Garrett Wells (Central Oklahoma). 
 
Baumler went 3-2 at the event, including a victory over No. 18 Nathan Schauer (Northern State). His losses were to No. 1 Shawn Streck (Central Oklahoma) and No. 2 Crew Howard (Nebraska-Kearney). 
 
Lopez and Doty each went 2-2 in the tournament. Lopez fell to the No. 1 Dalton Abney and No. 7 Jackson Kinsella (Nebraska-Kearney) in sudden victory. Doty fell to No. 1 Wyatt Turnquist (Northern State) 4-0, while defeating No. 20 John Burger (Nebraska-Kearney). 
 
Lawson Losee went 1-2, dropping to No. 6 Anthony Des Vigne and No. 9 Matt Ortiz (McKendree). Treyton Ackman posted a 1-4 mark over the weekend.
