Upper Iowa has achieved one of their largest margins of victory in school history, in an 88-28 rout of Crown College.
The Peacocks put together their best defensive performance of the season, as they allowed under ten points in each quarter, highlighted by Crown College scoring only two points in the fourth. UIU added 15 steals and four blocks, which are both team-highs on the season. Overall, the Peacocks forced 29 turnovers which led to them scoring 42 points off great defensive possessions.
Upper Iowa finished one point shy of their season-high, and their 29-points in the 3rd quarter are tied for the most they've scored in a ten-minute span. Fifth-year
Brooke Evenson led all scorers with 18 points, shooting a sensational 4-6 from three-point range and 5-8 from the field. The Peacocks would only make five free throws as a team, with Evenson shooting 4-4 from the line. Senior
Bailey Winter had the best game of her collegiate career, scoring 17 points while leading the team with five three pointers made on only seven shots. Sophomore
Amelia Valentino rounded out UIU's double digit scorers with 11 points, shooting 4-6 from the field and 3-4 from three. As a team, the Peacocks shot 15-27 from beyond the arc (55.6%) which is the most three pointers they have made all season.
The Peacocks recorded 36 rebounds as a team with seven coming on the offensive end. Senior
Cassidy Pagel finished with a game-high ten rebounds which is also her season-high. Evenson added six rebounds and freshman
Kenzie Deaton also recorded her career-high with five.

Sydnee Nelson more than doubled her season-high with seven assists while shooting a perfect 3-3 from the floor, scoring six points.

Ava Privet, alongside Evenson and Valentino each recorded three steals and blocked at least one shot.
Upper Iowa has finished the month of December with a perfect 3-0 record, and will look to continue their high-scoring play against their upcoming GLVC opponents. The Peacocks face McKendree on the road on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 5:30 p.m. and return home to take on Lewis on Saturday, Jan. 6 at 1 p.m.
