RECAP OF LAST WEEKEND… Upper Iowa traveled to Kirksville, Mo. last weekend to take on a well-oiled football team in Truman State, where they came up just shy in a 14-7 decision. TSU scored their first touchdown in the first quarter and UIU responded with their only score of the afternoon in the second quarter. The game remained tied 7-7 until the Bulldogs scored the last touchdown of the contest in the third quarter to seal the 14-7 victory.
The Bulldogs scored both of their touchdowns on the ground through their quarterback, Nolan Hair, who tallied 53 yards rushing on nine attempts in addition to completing 12 of 14 passes for 107 yards. The Peacocks had the ball at the TSU 9 on 2nd and 9 as
Darryl Overstreet Jr. completed a pass to
Eddie Burgess for their only touchdown of the contest. Burgess collected his seventh receiving touchdown of the season.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS… Quincy football is ranked sixth in the GLVC. They are 5-5 overall and 2-4 in conference, after dropping their last three contests to Indianapolis (24-14), McKendree (41-34) and Missouri S&T (21-14). The Hawks are listed first in the league for offensive totals as they have scored 53 touchdowns, six field goals, and 49 XPT's for an average of 38.5 points per game. They lead the GLVC in rushing yards with 201.8 yards per contest. Individually, Teon Dollard is fifth in rushing yards (63.3 per game), Drake Davis is tied for second in touchdown passes (16), Marlin Washington is fourth in receiving (57.9 per game) and Brock Inman is sixth in tackles (6.6 per game).

Eddie Burgess paces the league in receiving touchdowns with seven. He is tied with CJ Jarmon (Missouri S&T). Burgess has collected 37 receptions, his longest being 58 yards.
CONCLUDING STATEMENT… Upper Iowa football has the opportunity to earn a second conference win on the season, which would tie for the most conference wins since 2019 (2-9 NSIC). A fourth overall win on their record would be the most victories than the team has collected since 2017 when the Peacocks went 6-5.
