Peacocks Revisit Missouri S&T Miners in Rolla

THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK FOOTBALL… Upper Iowa travels to Rolla, Mo.on Saturday for their second matchup with the Missouri S&T this season, previously defeating them 38-26 earlier on. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m. The Peacocks come into this weekend with a 2-3 (0-1 GLVC) record, while the Miners are 0-5 (0-1 GLVC).

RECAP OF LAST WEEKEND… Upper Iowa football opened conference play on the road last weekend versus William Jewell and fell in a 31-13 final. The Cardinals scored 20 points in the second quarter to give them a 23-7 advantage going into halftime, keeping the Peacocks from catching their lead. Upper Iowa's two touchdowns were scored on a two-yard rush from Jayden Mitchell in the second quarter and a pass from Daryll Overstreet Jr. to Monte Morrow in the endzone at the beginning of the fourth quarter. 
 
LAST TIME THEY MET… The Upper Iowa football program defeated Missouri S&T for the first time in program history earlier this season on Sep. 16 in a 38-26 decision. The home team edged out the visitors after clawing back from a 13-0 deficit to start the game. 
 
After allowing their opponents to score two touchdowns within five minutes into the first quarter, Upper Iowa strung along 31 unanswered points. They scored four of their five touchdowns in the second quarter, added a field goal in the third and put up their last score in the fourth. 
 
Marcus Orr had a hand on each score that afternoon, throwing a career-high five touchdown passes. 
 
The defense stayed on their toes and produced clutch moments as John Butsch, Ben Kamara and Tyler Owen each recorded an interception. Butch led the team with nine tackles.
 
RJ Wells ran for a total of 66 yards and Monte Morrow accumulated 60 yards receiving. 
 
DOWN THE ROAD… Upper Iowa returns to Harms-Eischeid next weekend as they host McKendree University on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. for their Homecoming game.
