Peacock volleyball closed out their weekend of action with a loss to No. 25 Rockhurst in four sets. Upper Iowa picked up the second set 26-24 after falling 25-20 in the first set, but they dropped the remaining two sets 25-14 and 25-22. UIU fell to 9-12 (4-3 GLVC), while Rockhurst improved to 18-4 and 6-2 in conference play.
As the Peacocks were down 24-23 in the second stint, they rallied off three-straight points to pull off the second-set win after the home team committed two attack errors and
Zoe Semelroth and
Nicole Pozorski put up a block to earn the winning point.
Upper Iowa struggled at the net as they recorded a hitting percentage of .161 for the evening. They tallied 24 kills in comparison to the Hawks who accumulated 59 with a .232 hitting percentage.
Lydia Imbrogno put down 15 kills in the match to lead the team. She was followed by
Madelyn Rettler with 11 and
Alexis Moses with eight. Other team leaders were
Zoe Semelroth with three blocks,
Nicole Pozorski with 45 assists and
Kaci Beesecker 24 digs
Upper Iowa returns to Fayette next weekend with matchups against No. 4 University of Missouri-St. Louis on Friday at 6 p.m. and McKendree on Saturday at 3 p.m.
