The Peacock volleyball team had their four-match win streak snapped in Aberdeen, S.D. on Friday night. Northern State University controlled the match with Upper Iowa winning in three sets by scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-18. With the loss, UIU drops to 19-9 overall and 12-7 in the NSIC.

The Peacocks are now in a two-way tie for seventh place with Southwest Minnesota State University, one match in front of the University of Sioux Falls, and one-match behind a three-way tie for fourth place in the standings.
 
Upper Iowa struggled offensively hitting negative (-0.019) in the match with 28 kills and 30 attack errors in 107 attack attempts. On the contrary, Northern State was efficient in their attack knocking down 33 kills in 78 swings with just eight attack errors to hit .321.

Several of the Peacocks' 30 errors came in conjunction with 13 team blocks by the Wolves. In addition to the offensive woes, the Peacocks only got their hands on 31 digs and three team blocks.
 
The Peacocks will have the night to shake off the loss and get ready for an important match tomorrow afternoon in Moorhead, Minn. Upper Iowa can secure a place in the Northern Sun Conference Championships with a win on Saturday. UIU faces Minnesota State University Moorhead at 3:30 p.m.

A win will secure at least a tie for seventh place in the standings and set a new program record for wins during the Northern Sun Conference season.
