Upper Iowa hosted the No. 16 Huskies of St. Cloud State University on Friday evening in their first home match since Sept. 18. The Peacocks fell in four sets to the Huskies as SCSU won the first, second and fourth sets by scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-16. Upper Iowa grabbed their win in the third set by a 25-19 count, but fell to 12-5 on the year and 5-3 in the conference. St. Cloud State improved to 12-4 overall and 7-1 in the NSIC.

In their three victorious sets the Huskies tallied 43 kills and just 7 attack errors including none in the second frame, while holding the Peacocks to 31 kills and forcing 20 attack errors. The teams were tied at 10-10 in set one and UIU trailed 11-8 in sets two and four. In each case, SCSU was able to pull away and separate from their hosts to a controlled set win.

In the third set, the Peacocks switched their alignment and the insertion of
Kaitlyn Mohwinkle provided the home team with a huge spark. In the third set, Mohwinkle recorded 6 kills and a block from the right side. As a group, the team recorded 4 team blocks with five players getting credit in the set. UIU hit .273 in the frame, but held the Huskies to a .051 percentage with 11 kills and 9 attack errors.

Kaitlin Niedert and
Zoe Semelroth posted 10 kills, while Streightiff and Mohwinkle each added 8.
Nicole Pozorski registered 30 assists and
Jaima Tonne chipped in seven. Semelroth and
Kylie Willis led UIU at the net with 4 and 3 blocks, respectively.
