Upper Iowa snapped a three-match slide with a four-set win on the road at Minnesota State University, Mankato. The Peacocks (16-8, 9-6 NSIC) took down the Mavericks (11-12, 6-9 NSIC) in sets one, two and four by scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 25-13 around MSU's lone set-win 25-20. The victory places Upper Iowa into a four-way tie for sixth place in the Northern Sun.

The Peacocks hit .220 in the match with 51 kills, while holding the Mavericks to a .104 hitting percentage and 43 kills. Upper Iowa's defense made a big difference in the match posting an 85-64 advantage in digs.

In the first set, UIU took an early 8-3 lead, but MSU slowly climbed back into the set to tie the score at 15-15. The score remained tight until Upper Iowa broke a 21-21 tie with four straight points to claim the first frame 25-21.

The Peacocks jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the second set and rode the early advantage to a 25-18 win and a 2-0 lead in the match.

After UIU committed nine errors and dropped the third set, the Peacocks dominated the fourth set to close out the match. Upper Iowa held their hosts to just six kills, while putting down 13 kills of their own with only two errors to hit .355 in the frame.

Kaitlin Niedert posted 22 kills and a .422 hitting percentage with just three attack errors on the outside, while
Zoe Semelroth knocked down 12 kills and hit .364 with four errors in 22 swings.
Nicole Pozorski handed out 31 assists and added nine digs.
Madelyn Rettler led the team on defense with 21 digs, while
Charisma Herr recorded 16 and
Kaci Beesecker registered 15.

The Peacocks will host No. 7 Concordia University, St. Paul next Tuesday night in Dorman Memorial Gymnasium at 6 p.m.
