Upper Iowa fell in four sets at Augustana University on Saturday marking just the second time this season that the team has lost in back-to-back matches. The Vikings controlled the pace of play from the outset winning sets one, two and four by scores of 25-14, 25-20 and 25-14. The Peacocks won set three 25-23, but fell to 15-7 overall and 8-5 in the conference. Augie improved to 13-8 overall and 8-5 as well in the Northern Sun.

Augustana forced the Peacocks into just 37 kills across the four sets a less than 24 hours after UIU put down 47 kills at No. 8 Wayne State College. Upper Iowa's offense hit .046 for the match due to 30 attack errors which included 15 Vikings' blocks. UIU registered four kills in the first set and eight in the second and fourth. Even in UIU's win in set three, the team knocked down 17 kills, but was held back by 12 attack errors.

On the other side of the net, Augie hit .234 with 52 kills and 18 attack errors with only one in the fourth set. Maddy Guetter led three Vikings with double-figure kills with 14, Kate Reimann added 12 and Payton Rosendahl notched 10. Jolie Stecher posted nine blocks, while Rosendahl and Guetter each had six.

Emily Kono came off the bench in the second set and came away with a team-high 8 kills.
Nicole Pozorski recorded 26 assists and led the team in digs with 17.

Upper Iowa will host Winona State University on Thursday night in Fayette. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Dorman Memorial Gymnasium.
