The two teams will return to the diamond at Robertson Woods Field on Saturday for the final game of the three-game series beginning at 12 p.m. Prior to the game, the Peacocks will recognize their six seniors on the field.

Game One: Upper Iowa 1 - Sioux Falls 0

After reaching base only twice through the first five innings, the Peacock offense got going in the sixth and seventh frames. Following a double play ended the UIU threat in the sixth inning, the home team got their first two runners on with a pair of singles by Riley Braughton and A.J. Friedrich. After a sac bunt by Cole Scieszinski moved both runners into scoring position, Jack Thode knocked a pitch out to the gap in right center field to score the runner from third and give UIU the walkoff victory. The walkoff, rbi-single was Thode's second of the season after a two-run gamewinner against Northern State University.

Duncan Snider (3-4) picked up his second straight win and second win this week with a complete game, shutout. Snider threw 7 innings allowing just five hits while striking out eight Cougars. Snider pushed his scoreless inning streak to 13 innings this week after six goose eggs against Concordia University, St. Paul and seven more on Friday.

Sioux Falls threatened to scratch the scoreboard in several of the innings, but Snider got picked up by his defense in the tough moments. UIU's three fielding errors provided opportunities to the USF offense, but Upper Iowa was able to strand 11 Cougars on the bases including leaving the bases loaded in the fourth. The seventh inning was the only inning in which USF did not get a runner on base.

Keenahn Coyle (0-7) took the hard luck loss after his best start of the season. Coyle went 6.1 innings allowing just the one run on six hits while striking out 8 Peacocks.

Game Two: Sioux Falls 7 - Upper Iowa 1

Upper Iowa got on the scoreboard first in game two with a run in the bottom of the second inning. Hogan Penny walked with one out and moved to second on a ground ball and third on a wild pitch. Thode plated Penny with a grounder to the left side for his second RBI of the day.

Sioux Falls finally got in the scoring column with a pair of runs in the top of the third. The Cougars also took advantage of a walk with one out to Connor King. King moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Josh Rehwaldt. USF put runners at second and third when Grant Lung followed with a double to deep center and scored their second run on a squeeze bunt off the bat of Alex Robinson. The rally ended when Friedrich snagged a liner off his shoe tops and doubled up Robinson at first.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Peacocks put a pair of runners in scoring position with one out. On a grounder to short, the Cougars' Grant Lung came home to cut a run down at the plate and a strikeout ended the threat and left USF with a 2-1 lead.

The Cougars loaded the bases with one out in the sixth inning thanks to a pair of infield singles deep in the hole at short. After a strikeout by UIU's Alexander Morales, USF pushed one run across on a walk and another on an error on the infield. Rehwaldt added a pair of unearned runs for the visitors with a two-run single to center and Lung plated a fifth run in the frame with a single through the right side. The inning ended on the basepaths as UIU caught Long stealing second.

The big inning was all the Cougars need to secure the victory. Christian Lazar (4-1) shutdown the Peacocks over 4.1 innings of relief allowing no runs and no hits while striking out three. Matt Graham started and gave up just a run on two hits.

Logan DeWulf (1-2) took the loss after the opening three innings; he allowed two runs on three hits. Four of the five runs that came for the Cougars in the sixth inning were unearned while Alexander Morales and Clayton Lieb were on the mound.
