In another Top-25 showdown between two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference teams, the No. 19 Peacocks were swept by No. 6 Northern State University on the road. The Wolves hit an impressive .432 as a team to outscore the Peacocks 25-15, 25-12, and 25-17 in three sets. Northern State improved to 17-2 (10-1 NSIC) with the win and Upper Iowa fell to 13-6 (5-6 NSIC).
The Wolves proved why they are the 2nd-best hitting team in the nation by powering down 49 kills with just eight errors in 95 attempts during the three sets. Northern State hit .444 in the opening set, .313 in the second, and finished out the match with 19 kills and no errors during the third frame for a .528 hitting clip.Â
Defensively, the Wolves held the Peacocks to a season-low .101 hitting percentage fueled by 11 total blocks. Upper Iowa finished the match with just 29 kills, 28 assists, and 33 digs.
