This Weekend in Peacock Volleyball... Upper Iowa will host Parents Night on Friday as the team welcomes the No. 18 Wildcats of Wayne State College and then line up against the Viking of Augustana University on Saturday at 2 p.m. Live stats and webcasts will be available all weekend through the links at UIUPeacocks.com/Live and both matches will be streamed live on the Stretch Internet App for fans with Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple or Android televisions.. In addition, the match on Saturday afternoon will be broadcast live on KCRG-TV 9.2.

NSIC Defensive Player of the Week... Haley Weepie earned the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week honors after a big week in the libero jersey. Weepie, who moved into her roles as the team's libero one match prior to this week's action, got her hands on 76 digs over the course of 11 sets last week. Her impressive 6.91 digs/set average came as Upper Iowa played three matches on the road. Weepie recorded 30 digs in four sets at Winona State University, 17 at the University of Sioux Falls and 29 at No. 7 Southwest Minnesota State University. The Fairbank, Iowa native has recorded 192 digs (4.17/set) for the season.

A Quick Look Back at Last Week... Upper Iowa defeated Winona State 3-1 on Tuesday last week before dropping a 3-0 decision at Sioux Falls on Friday night. The Peacocks wrapped up their week against No. 7 Southwest Minnesota State. UIU took the first set and pushed the Mustangs to the brink in sets two and three losing the pair of sets 26-24 and 28-26. While Weepie was leading the defense, Malissa LeClaire paced the hitters with 120 assists (10.91/set) and added 25 digs and Anna Winter and Kaitlin Niedert led the offense with 50 and 41 kills, respectively.

About the #18 Wildcats... The Wildcats are 10-3 on the season and 3-2 in NSIC play. WSC is coming off a 2-1 week where the 'Cats won 3-0 at Augustana, lost 3-0 at home to then #3 Concordia-St. Paul and outlasted Minnesota State in Rice Auditorium in five sets. WSC leads the NSIC in blocks per set at 2.43 and is fourth in opponent attack percentage (.148). The 'Cats are fifth in hitting percentage (.243), sixth in service aces per set (1.47), seventh in digs per set (15.81) and 12th in kills (12.00) and assists per set (11.09).​
About Augustana... Augustana is 5-8 on the year and 0-5 in the Northern Sun despite some close matches with some of the conference's best teams. The Vikings come into this weekend after falling in five sets to No. 2 Concordia-St. Paul. In the five set thriller the Vikings won the first set which was the Golden Bears first set loss in seven matches. Senior Hanna Justesen set a career high with 22 digs, her previous career high was 21 vs Upper Iowa on Oct. 28, 2017 and senior Courtney Place was one kill away from tying her career high of 26 kills in a match, she finished with 25.Â
