Upper Iowa swept Lake Superior State University on Friday to bounce back with their first win of the season evening their record at 1-1. The Peacocks dominated the match with a balanced offensive attack that saw seven players get on the scoresheet with kills.

Aaron Nelson scored his 100th victory at the helm of the Peacock volleyball program with the win.
The Peacocks came out of the gates ready to play on Friday taking early leads of 10-1 and 17-6 in the first set. UIU took great care of the ball in the first frame committing only 3 errors while putting down 12 kills to win 25-15. In the second set, Upper Iowa recorded their highest kill total (14) of the match. After their 25-19 win to get ahead 2-0, UIU dominated the third set 25-13 to close out the victory.
Malissa LeClaire put together a second straight double-double with 25 assists and 16 digs.
Haley Weepie and
Lauren Wombles each registered 8 kills, while
Anna Winter and
Haley Poula recorded 7 and 6, respectively.
Gabby Holmes got her hands on 12 digs on the back line and
Bethany Lovhaug posted 4 blocks at the net.
The Peacocks will close out their time in Michigan with a pair of matches on Saturday. Upper Iowa will line up with Clarion University at 9:30 a.m. and Mercyhurst University at 4 p.m.
