UPPER IOWA PEACOCKS VS. WAYNE STATE WILDCATS
Â
THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK FOOTBALL... Upper Iowa (3-6) welcomes Wayne State College (2-7) to Harms-Eischeid Stadium for the final home game of the regular season. The Peacocks and Wildcats are looking to split a series tie in Harms-Eischeid Stadium that has seen each team win six games. UIU has won four of the last five meetings with WSC. The team will honor and recognize their 16 seniors prior to the game on Saturday. Fans that can't make it to the game in Fayette can listen on AM 950 KOEL, follow the game online through live stats and a webcast at UIUPeacocks.com/Live, or stream the game live through the Stretch Internet app on Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple or Android TV. The game will also be broadcasted on KCRG-TV 9.2, but will be tape delayed for a 4 p.m. start.
Â
THE SERIES... The Peacocks and Wildcats are tied at six wins apiece in their series history. Last season, Wayne State scored a 28-10 victory after forcing eight PeaÂcock turnovers to break a four-game winning streak by Upper Iowa from 2013-16. Two seasons ago at home on Senior Day in Fayette, Upper Iowa pushed out to multiple two-score leads, but had to hold on late for a 35-30 win to claim a 6-5 lead in the series. UIU tied the all-time series with their come-from-behind, overÂtime victory in Wayne, Neb. in 2015. Big quarters have been the formula for UIU in the series. In 2014, the Peacocks scored 29 in the second frame on the way to a 58-29 win, and in 2015 in Wayne, the Peacocks used 17 points in the fourth quarÂter to rally and tie the Wildcats and added 10 more in a pair of overtime periods to win 34-31 when
Brady Beuschel knocked in a game-winner from 34 yards. The two teams began playing each other in 2006. UIU won the first meeting, 24-14, to claim their first-ever NCAA Division II and NSIC victory.
Â

Jordan Wymer,
Brent Lammerss,
Jordan Rommes, Keaton Pinter, A.J. Conner,
Tanner Thompson,
Ryan Parmely,
Nic Patterson,
Garrett Johnston,
Marcus Johnson,
Skyler Lehman,
Joe Busch,
Jesse Hynek and student assistant coaches

Quentin Brandt.
Â
NEARING MILESTONES... Quarterback
Brent Lammers is getting closer to some big milestones with two games to play in his senior season. The Manchester, Iowa native passed 1,000 rushing yards in his four-year career earlier this season, and now Lammers is nearing 6,000 passing yards and 7,000 yards in total offense. The Peacock signal caller needs 196 passing yards to reach the 6K milestone and 115 yards of total offense to reach the 7K plateau.
Â
Linebacker
Jordan Rommes passed the 200 mark for tackles in his career two weeks ago at St. Cloud State. The senior now has 208 tackles in his four years including 136 solo stops.
Â
Running back
Ryan Parmely is closing in on 2,000 all-purpose yards in his four seaÂsons in Peacock blue. Parmely needs just 137 yards rushing or receiving to climb past the 2K mark. The senior has tallied 1,722 rushing yards and 141 receiving yards in his 35 games.
Â
Tight end
Skyler Lehman is nearing 100 receptions and 1,000 receiving yards over his three seasons on the field for UIU. Lehman has pulled in 88 passes for 926 yards for 10 touchdowns in his 28 games for Upper Iowa.
Â
Senior linebacker
Nic Patterson is enjoying his best season with the Peacocks. He has taken over the lead in tackles on the team with 82 this season including 51 solo tackles. Patterson needs just 18 more tackles to hit the century mark this year.
Â
WHAT TO WATCH FOR... Both teams will look to get their offenses going through a passing attack. The Peacocks and Wildcats are each throwing for more than 245 yards per game. While both offenses like to air it out, the two defenses have fared differently against the pass this season. Wayne State is allowing only 183 yards per game (2nd NSIC) to their opponents, while Upper Iowa is giving up 228 yards per game (11th NSIC). UIU will likely look more balanced and keep the ball on the ground for chunks of time as the Wildcats are allowing nearly 175 rushing yards per game to opponents.
