Box Score The Peacock volleyball team improved to 5-0 on the season with another sweep, their fourth of the season, over Missouri University of Science and Technology. The defenses of both teams seemed to control play forcing low hitting percentages on the night. Upper Iowa and Missouri S&T both came up with 40 kills, but the Peacocks registered eight less attack errors to make the difference on the night winning by scores of 25-22, 25-22 and 26-24.

After the match, Head Coach
Aaron Nelson said, "Give a lot of credit to Missouri S&T. They played aggressively on offense and were very solid defensively tonight. We were just a little off with everything tonight and had to fight ourselves too often. I am proud of the way that we were able to battle through and come out with a big win on the road against a good team."

Upper Iowa had their strongest hitting performance of the match in the first set when they registered 13 kills and only 3 attack errors. An 8-2 run midway through the set to take a 20-14 lead provided the Peacocks with the cushion they needed. UIU maintained their lead and sealed the deal on a
Haley Weepie kill.

The Peacock offense continued to produce points in the second set putting down 14 kills to go along with 4 attack errors. UIU jumped out to an 8-2 lead early, but MST battled back to tie the match at 15-15. The match was still tied at 21-21, but Upper Iowa scored four of the final five points highlighted by kills from Weepie and a final knockdown by
Anna Winter to win 25-22.

Both teams committed 10 attack errors in the third set as the hitters got a little wild. The Miners took control of the lead early with a 14-9 advantage. Upper Iowa ran off six straight points to get back into the set and take a slim lead. The Peacocks scored four straight points late in the frame and looked to be poised for the win leading 24-22, but the home team tied the match at 24-24. UIU got kills from
Malissa LeClaire and
Lauren Wombles to win the set 26-24 and sweep the match.

Three Peacocks paced the offense with a combined 25 kills; Winter led the way with 9, while Weepie and Wombles each added 8. LeClaire paced the attack with 32 assists and added 3 kills as well.
Ashley Larson spearheaded the back line defense with 18 digs, while LeClaire tallied 17 and
Gabby Holmes added 10.

Upper Iowa will remain in Rolla, Mo. for the next two days to compete in the Middle of Everywhere Classic hosted by Missouri S&T. The Peacocks will play Ohio Dominican University and #18 Washburn University on Friday and then two more matches on Saturday.
