With one out, Cain tripled to the gap in right center and Janssen followed with a homerun to right cutting the margin to a pair of runs, 4-2.

The Beavers were looking for more in the top of the eighth inning as they loaded the bases with no outs, but Upper Iowa turned an unconventional triple play to end the inning. A sharp grounder was gloved by Janssen at third; he stepped on the bag for the first out threw home where UIU caught the Beavers in a rundown for the second out.
