The University of Sioux Falls swept the Peacock baseball team on Sunday at Sioux Falls Stadium behind a strong showing at the plate and on the mound. The Cougars (16-24, 13-17 NSIC) took down the Peacocks (16-22, 12-18 NSIC) in game one 20-2 and then scored an 11-1 decision in game two, which was shortened to seven innings due to the NSIC run-rule.
USF put momentum on their side very early on Sunday scoring 10 runs in the first inning of game one. The Cougars took advantage of nine hits while sending 16 batters to the dish in the frame. Upper Iowa finally got the last out of the inning on a force out at second with the bases loaded.

Zackary Cain, who singled to leadoff, and give the Peacocks their first run of the game.
Sioux Falls continued to add to their lead pushing two runs across in the third, one more in the fourth and four in the fifth and moving ahead 17-1. Upper Iowa got another run in the sixth inning when
Callahan Seehase hit a homerun to left field.
The Cougars final three runs came in the sixth on a three-run homer setting the final score at 20-2.
Zak Wallner (3-1) got the complete game win allowing just 5 hits to UIU.
Ryan Munoz (1-4) took the loss going only two-thirds of an inning and allowing eight runs on six hits. Five more pitchers climbed the hill for UIU, but none could escape without allowing a run.
In the second game,
Alex George hit a sac fly to center to allow Seehase to come home from third after a leadoff walk in the third inning. The 1-0 lead held up until the bottom of the fourth when the Cougars got a sac fly to tie the contest at 1-1.
The home team broke the tie and the game wide open in the fifth inning scoring 4 runs on 4 hits highlighted by a two-run single and then added six more in the seventh inning on six hits. The game ended in the seventh with two outs. The NSIC's run-rule came into play with the home team ahead by ten in the seventh inning (or later).
Dylan Gavin (1-2) picked up his first win of the season with a complete game in which he allowed only one run on four hits.
Cain (3-4) took the loss giving up 5 runs on 6 hits in his 5 innings on the bump.
Jay Kiel came on in relief and surrendered 6 runs on 6 hits in his 1.2 innings of work.
The Peacocks remain on the road next week with a double header at Southwest Minnesota State University on Wednesday, Apr. 26 and a four-game series at Minnesota State University, Mankato on Saturday and Sunday, Apr. 29-30.
