UIU knocked one run off the margin after

UIU jumped out first with a pair of runs on three hits in the first inning fueled by and rbi-double off the bat of Janssen to chase home Moser, who tripled with one out. Janssen scored on
Emmett Kulick's double to left.
The Jets climbed out to a 4-2 lead with four runs on just one hit in the second inning thanks to a hit batsmen and two walks to open the frame. Newman added an unearned run in the third without getting a hit to push their lead to 5-2 heading to the fourth.
The Peacocks tied the game in the fourth with three runs on five hits highlighted by a Luis Ravelo rbi, a Moser rbi-single and an rbi from Janssen on a single to right.

Upper Iowa began to chip away at the lead in the top of the fifth with a pair of runs when
Emmett Kulick hit an rbi-triple to center and scored on an error as the ball came back in. The Peacocks still trailed 12-5 in the seventh inning when it was their turn to put a big, crooked number on the scoreboard. UIU scored five runs on four hits fueled by Kulick's three-run homerun to left and a pair of run-scoring singles from Cain and Luis Ravelo.
