The team posted a 3-1 record thanks to wins over Northern Michigan (3-2), Michigan Tech (3-2) and Lake Superior State (3-1). According to the Northern Sun Conference Coaches... Upper Iowa was picked to finish 12th in the Northern Sun this season according to the NSIC Preseason Coaches Poll. Mundt, a senior outside hitter, was named as a Player to Watch in the conference as well. The Utica, Minn. product was named as an All-NSIC Second Team performer following her record-setting season in 2014. Mundt surpassed the 1,000-kill milestone in a five-set victory over Minnesota State University Moorhead in Fayette becoming the first junior in program history and fourth player at Upper Iowa to reach the 1,000-kill mark. She joined former Peacocks Shea Meyerman, Sara Vance and Nicky Brown at the lofty mark. UIU's outside hitter now has 1,059 kills in her three years and became the single-season record holder in kills with 439 last season. The kill total was the third most in the conference and 22nd highest mark in the nation.
