THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK WOMEN'S SOCCER

The Upper Iowa women's soccer team (7-5-2, 6-4-1 NSIC) returns to Fayette for a pair of games against NSIC opponents while celebrating Senior Day and Family Weekend. The Peacocks will host the Golden Eagles of Minnesota Crookston on Saturday at 1 p.m. and the Bemidji State Beavers on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Peacocks are 2-0-1 all-time against the Golden Eagles after tying 0-0 last season. UIU has a 5-6 record against the Beavers and lost 3-2 in Bemidji, Minn. last season.

LAST WEEK IN PEACOCK WOMEN'S SOCCER

Upper Iowa fell to the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs 1-0 on Saturday as the Mustangs scored the lone goal seven minutes into the game. The Peacocks earned their fourth shutout win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Sioux Falls on Sunday afternoon.

KEY NOTES TO CONSIDER

1      SENIOR SEND-OFF: The Peacocks will say farewell to a group of six seniors this weekend. The six have combined to have played in a 291 games and made 126 starts. They have totaled 41 goals, 14 of which were game winners, and added 29 assists. They racked up 236 shots and put 132 of them on net. Above all else, they've been winners. Over the last four years, this class has been a part of 48 wins, just two shy of the record set by the 2014 class, with a chance to break that record by the end of this season.

2      REACHING FOR RECORDS: Senior Madie Edwards has 36 career goals and 84 career points, placing her second all-time in Upper Iowa women's soccer history in both categories. The Crystal Lake, Illinois native needs four goals and nine points to tie the program records set by Elicia Munns (2002-05).

3      OCTOBER SUCCESS: During Head Coach Brian Diaz's tenure with UIU, the Peacocks have a 17-5-1 record in the month of October, including a 12-1 mark in Fayette over that span.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT

vs. MINNESOTA CROOKSTON:
With a current NSIC record of 5-6, UMC has 15 points and stands tied for ninth with Concordia University – St. Paul. Last weekend, UMC was led by a pair of seniors as Courtney Armborst and Delaney McIntyre both scored in each of the conference wins. Each also had scores late in the games as Armborst scored in the final five minutes of Saturdays 3-2 win over Minnesota State University Moorhead, while McIntyre's winner came with two seconds left in overtime when the Golden Eagles knocked off Northern State University, 2-1.

vs. BEMIDJI STATE: The Beavers, now 9-5-0 overall and 6-5-0 in NSIC play, continue their five-match road stretch with a trip south for a pair of conference matches this weekend. Last weekend the Beavers split their matches. They began the weekend with a double-overtime loss to Northern State University, 2-1. Sunday, the Beavers regained momentum as they defeated Minnesota State University Moorhead, 5-1.
