The Vikings of Augustana College raced out to a 16-2 lead on the way to a 12-point halftime advantage. Augie used shooting percentages of 61% from the floor and 48% from the to hand Upper Iowa their sixth straight loss, 97-75.

Augustana built a quick fourteen point advantage in the first five minutes and nearly held their early advantage for the remainder of the half. The Peacocks pulled within nine, 47-38, as the clock showed 1:01 thanks to a quick 6-2 run fueled by three straight layups. Augie scored the final points of the half though as they netted a three-pointer, their sixth of the half, to push their lead back to double-digits, 50-38.

Upper Iowa made 14 field goals in the second half including a pair of three's, but Augustana's offense was on a different level Saturday night as they converted 16 field goals with nearly half (7) coming from behind the arc. The five extra three-pointers led to a ten-point win in the second half giving the home team the 97-75 victory.

The 75 points scored was the most by the UIU offense since their victory over Southwest Minnesota State when they netted 78 on Jan. 18. The point total was also the third highest of the season.

Sam Thrapp led the Peacocks with 14 points, 5 assists, and 2 rebounds, while Whitney Kieffer added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists.

Next Up

The Peacocks will return to Dorman Gym for their final four games of the regular season. Upper Iowa will host Minnesota Duluth on Feb. 14 and St Cloud State on Feb. 15.
