Upper Iowa closed out their 2014 season with a victory on the road Saturday night at the University of Mary.  The Peacocks lost the first set to the Marauders, but rallied to edge out their hosts in the second set and then roll to wins in the third and fourth sets to close out the victory.  With the win, Upper Iowa finishes their season with a 12-16 record overall and a 7-13 record in the NSIC.
Four Peacocks reached double figures in kills led by 
Jennifer Mundt's 13.  Mundt was joined by 
Hailey Brown (12), 
Tyann Caspers (11) and 
Alisha VanderWoude (10).  Upper Iowa recorded 58 kills while hitting .239 for the match including averages of .412 and .333 in the third and fourth sets.
Brown registered her ninth triple-double of the season in her final match for Upper Iowa with 25 assists, 16 digs and 12 kills.  
Jenna Hermsen assisted on 21 points and added 9 digs.  
Amanda Weiss picked up 12 digs, while Mundt added 11 for a double-double.  At the net, 
Haylie Franklin tallied 5 blocks, while Mundt added 4 denials.
In the first set, UIU trailed 21-17, but took a 22-21 lead thanks to five straight points.  U-Mary fired back with four of the next five points to claim the 25-23 win.
The Peacocks jumped out to a 9-3 lead early in the second set, but the Marauders bounced back with an 8-2 run to tie the score at 11-11.  UM kept the pressure up and took a six-point lead 19-13.  Thanks to a 9-3 spurt, the visitors were able to tie the set at 22-22.  UIU fought off two set points for the home team and finally pulled out the win 27-25 after scoring three straight points including a pair of kills by Mundt.
After the break, Upper Iowa cruised to wins in the third and fourth sets to win by set scores of 25-20 and 25-17.
