THIS WEEKEND'S MATCHES... Upper Iowa will open their 2013 season in Winona, Minn. today and Saturday, Sept. 6-7 at the Winona State Tournament. The Peacocks will take on Michigan Tech and St. Joseph's on Friday before returninng to the courts Saturday to line up with MSU Moorhead and Northwest Missouri State.

The Lone Senior... Melanie Behnke was named as a NSIC Player to Watch heading into her senior season. Behnke earned All-NSIC Second Team honors last season after leading the Peacock offense with 397 kills in 111 sets. Her 3.58 kills/set were 6th best in the NSIC and ranked as the 58th highest mark in the country. The Seymour, Wis. native reached double figures in kills in all but five of UIU's 29 matches and reached 20-plus kills three times including a season-high 24 at Winona State. Behnke added 150 digs, 43 blocks and 4 service aces.
