The Peacock volleyball team's season came to an end tonight in Crookston, Minnesota. The Golden Eagles of the University of Minnesota Crookston claimed a 3-1 decision in the match to earn a berth into the NSIC Tournament. UIU's record dropped to 8-22 overall and 4-16 in the conference.
UMC held their guests to a .130 hitting percentage in the match fueled by their first set defense. Upper Iowa hit .000 with 10 kills and 10 errors in the first set dropping the frame, 25-19.
The Peacocks used their highest hitting percentage in the second set, .206, with 12 kills and just 5 errors to post a 25-15 victory.
After the break, the UMC offense took control hitting .303 and .318 in the final two sets to claim wins by scores of 25-18 and 29-27.
Hailey Brown led the Peacocks with 8 kills, 20 assists and 10 digs, while
Jenna Hermsen helped to pace UIU's attack with 13 assists.
Amanda Weiss led the defense with 14 digs, while
Haylie Franklin added 5 blocks and 8 kills with a .583 hitting percentage.
Melanie Behnke closed out her career with the Peacocks with a team-high 13 kills.
