Four matches... four wins.  Mission accomplished for the Peacock volleyball team this weekend at home.  Upper Iowa hosted their first tournament and completed a four-game sweep of the competition with a 3-0 win tonight over Lake Superior State.  The win came by scores of 25-17, 25-18 and 25-15.

Freshman Jennifer Mundt led the Peacocks on offense with 15 kills, while Melanie Behnke and Hailey Brown each registered 11.  Both Mundt (.423) and Brown (.455) hit exceptionally well on the night.  As a team, UIU hit .345 in the first set and .343 in the final set.

Skylar Lesan dished out 29 assists on the night and added 8 defensive digs.  On defense, the team was led by Amanda Weiss and Behnke, who tallied 12 and 10 digs, respectively. 

In the tournament, Upper Iowa led all seven major categories for team stats including hitting percentage, opponent hitting percentage, assists, kills, blocks, service aces and digs.

Kayla Wagner led the tournament in hitting percentage (.325) and blocks/set (1.64), while Behnke's 55 kills were good for a tournament leading 3.93 kills/set.

The Peacocks will now turn around and head down to Rolla, Mo. to compete in the Middle of Everywhere Tournament hosted by Missouri S&T.  Upper Iowa will face Northwest Missouri State and Missouri S&T on Friday and then line up with Missouri Western State and Emporia State on Saturday.
