The Peacock volleyball dominated the first and third sets of their match with the University of Mary in the UIU Volleyball Fall Invite this afternoon on the way to a 3-0 win.  The victory pushed their record to 3-0 on the year and was fueled by a balanced offensive attack and strong defense.

Upper Iowa won set one by a 25-14 count while hitting .385 and picked up a 25-15 win in the deciding set.  In between though, the Marauders gave the Peacocks a run for their money in the second set.  Both defenses played well in the second set holding hitting percentages under .200.  UIU was able to edge U-Mary in kills 14-13 and eeked out a 26-24 victory.

Melanie Behnke led the attack with 13 kills, while Kayla Wagner and Jennifer Mundt each tallied 8.  Skylar Lesan handed out 27 assists in the three sets and added 11 digs, while Hailey Brown and Danielle Gernes registered 13 and 10 digs, respectively.  Behnke and Wagner each racked up four blocks at the net.  As a team, the Peacocks hit .222 for the match while holding the Marauders to a .046 hitting percentage.

UIU will wrap up the home tournament this evening with a match against Lake Superior State University at 7:00 p.m.
