The Peacocks dropped a third straight NSIC matchup against the Bulldogs of the University of Minnesota Duluth by a score of 4-2 on Pattison Field this afternoon.
Upper Iowa started well with a goal on a free kick from
Emily Gielau just seven minutes into the game. The Bulldogs rallied with a goal just three minutes later on an assist from Reegan Lloyd, her first of three helpers for the game.
In the 19th minute,
Elizabeth Kaluzinski crossed to
Kali Loescher who deposited the shot to give the Peacocks the lead, once again, 2-1.
A 35 yard frozen rope off the foot of Jennifer Smith knotted the game at 2-2 midway through the first half.
UMD broke the tie in the 68th minute thanks to Lloyd's second assist and then added an insurance goal four minutes later to push their lead to 4-2; Lloyd assisted on the final Bulldog goal as well.
The aggressive Bulldog attack resulted in 22-12 shot advantage as both the third and fourth goals came off rebounds.
Upper Iowa will go on the road to Wayne State and Augustana next Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1-2. Both games are scheduled to start at 1 PM.
