Busy Week for the Peacocks...
After ten days without any outside competition, the Peacocks dominated a dual with Waldorf College. UIU got pins at 141, 149, and 285 as well as a technical fall and two major decisions to win 34-12. Upper Iowa will get right back on the mat this weekend with a visit to Sioux Falls, S.D. to face #2 Augustana on Friday and then return home for their final home dual against #3 St. Cloud State on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Peacocks in the Polls...
Upper Iowa is currently ranked #11 in the latest NWCA Top 20 Poll and five individuals are also ranked in the top 8 in the nation. The ranked Peacocks are Kyle Pedretti (133, #1), Trevor Franklin (125, #2), Mitch Schultz (184, #8), Carl Broghammer (197, #8), and Zach Rosol (285, #4).

100th Victory for Grimm…
Heath Grimm, Upper Iowa's Head Wrestling Coach, earned his 100th victory at the helm of the Peacock wrestling program with a 34-12 win over Waldorf College on Tuesday night. The Osage, Iowa native is in his eleventh season as the head coach of UIU’s most successful athletic program.

Scouting the #2 Vikings...
The Vikings are undefeated in NSIC action and will look to finish the 2010-11 season with a victory to claim the conference championship. The Peacocks will look to stay alive in the championship race with a win, but they will have to battle through Ty Copsey (197, #2), Marcus Edgington (157, #3), Jay Sherer (141, #4), Gavin Nelson (165, #4), Nate Herda (149, #6) and Carl Serck (174, #7).

Scouting the #3 Huskies...
The Huskies have set a new record for dual wins (17) this season, but need some help from UIU to stay in the NSIC title race. SCSU will remain in the hunt if Upper Iowa can beat Augustana on Friday. St. Cloud State defeated #1 Nebraska-Omaha (19-18) on Jan. 21. The Huskies are led by Jake Kahnke (285, #1), John Sundgren (157, #2), Tad Merritt (165, #2), Luke Munkelwitz (197, #6), Jacob Horn (149, #7), Gabe Suarez (141, #8) and Shamus O’Grady (174, #8).
