Peacocks and Huskies Play to Draw in Fayette

Upper Iowa 0 - St. Cloud State 0 (2 OT)

Box Score

Upper Iowa remained unbeaten in their last four matches and pitched their second straight shutout at Pattison Field today.  Unfortunately, the Peacocks were unable to score as well; their match with the Huksies of St. Cloud State ended in a 0-0 draw.  UIU is now 4-5-2 overall and 2-3-2 in the NSIC.

The home team outshot their guests 16-10 in the 110 minutes of action, but Kali Loescher's shot just a few seconds into the first overtime was the closest of them all. The forward from Crystal Lake, Ill. nearly had her second gamewinner in as many days.  Her strike hit the crossbar and bounced away harmlessly.

Amanda Smith made six saves to earn the shutout completing a perfect weekend in net.  Smith did not allow a goal in 200 minutes of action this weekend.

Upper Iowa will now head to the Dakotas for a pair of NSIC games next Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 15 and 16.  The Peacocks will face U-Mary on Saturday in Bismarck, N.D. and Northern State on Sunday in Aberdeen, S.D.  Saturday's game will start at 11 a.m., while Sunday's matinee will begin at 1 p.m.
