Leslie Willson put the Peacocks on the scoreboard first in the 23rd minute on a shot that came off a deflection in front of the goal. 

Upper Iowa held their slim lead throughout the remainder of the opening half, but just one minute into the second period, Samantha Zobott converted a goal on a loose ball in front of the Peacock net to tie the match at 1-1. 

The two teams then spent the next 63:54 unable to find the back of the net and after two overtimes, the match ended in a tie.

Wayne State outshot Upper Iowa 20-14 in the match which included an 8-5 advantage in shots on goal. 

Amanda Smith made 7 saves in goal for UIU in her 110 minutes of duty.

The Peacocks (2-5-1, 0-3-1 NSIC) will return to the soccer field tomorrow afternoon for a match with the Vikings of Augustana in Sioux Falls, S.D.
