Women's Box Score || Men's Box Score

The Upper Iowa Soccer teams travelled to St. Louis, Mo. Tuesday night for a women's/men's twinbill against the Tritons of the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The Tritons swept UIU by defeating the Peacocks 3-1 in women's action and 2-0 in the men's match.

After both teams went to the halftime break tied at 0-0, Peacock junior Emily Gielau broke through and notched her fifth goal of the 2010 season in the 64th minute to give UIU a 1-0 advantage halfway through the second half of action.

Disaster struck soon after for the lady Peacocks as UMSL rattled off three unanswered goals in just fifteen minutes of action to take the match from Upper Iowa, 3-1. The Peacocks outshot the Tritons 12-9 while both teams put six shots on goal. Gielau struck four shots while Shania Marnell blasted three shot attempts.

With the loss, UIU falls to 6-5-1 overall while UMSL improves to 6-4-2.

The Peacock Men fell behind right after the halftime break and fell 2-0 to the Tritions in the nightcap. Upper Iowa was outshot 29-10 and 15-5 in shots on goal. Derek Oelmann tallied four shots while Marco Garcia shot three times.

The two teams will return to Pattison Field for matches this weekend. The Peacock women will return to Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action this Friday when the Marauders of U-Mary visit Fayette for a 3 p.m. showdown. On Sunday, both teams will be back in action for a women's/men's doubleheader. The women will battle the Wolves of Northern State while the men attempt to defend Pattison Field for the final time of 2010 when St. Ambrose visits.
