Smoldt, who was named this week's NSIC South Division Player of the Week, led UIU in scoring with 19 points per game including a 29-point outburst as Upper Iowa upset No. 2 Truman State 103-77 at home on Saturday. The senior guard averaged 4 rebounds per game as well. Smoldt rebounded from a poor three-point shooting night in UIU's 85-72 win over Winona State on Tuesday to hit 7-13 from deep against the Bulldogs. In the two games, the Reinbeck, Iowa native converted 7-9 inside the arc adding two assists and two steals in his 60 minutes of action.
