Upper Iowa University Athletics

Hannah Jones hit .571 in five games.  The Peacock senior racked up 8 hits in 14 at bats including a double, a triple and two homers.  Jones is slugging a dominating 1.214 after the first weekend of action. 

 

The Peacocks finished their run at the 2011 Desert Stinger Classic with a 1-4 record.  The team hit .325 with 6 doubles, 3 triples and 3 homeruns and scored 33 runs (6.6/game).  The Peacocks grabbed 16 steals in 17 attempts on the base paths. 

 

Three Peacocks had great weekends at the plate including Hannah Jones (.571), Chelsey Sechrest (.556), and Erin Bennek (.529).  The trio combined for 22 hits including 3 doubles, 3 triples, a pair of homers, and 8 stolen bases.

 

Upper Iowa will return to action this weekend when they make the short drive to Rochester, Minn. for the NSIC/RMAC Crossover inside the Rochester Regional Bubble.  The Peacocks will play four games in two days against Mesa State, Nebraska-Kearney, a rematch from game two in Las Vegas against Adams State and UC-Colorado Springs.
