Upper Iowa University Athletics

The Upper Iowa track & field program opened up the outdoor season on Saturday at the Dingles/Brueggen Open in Winona, Minn. hosted by Saint Mary's University. The event marks the first competition of the outdoor year after having a few weeks off after the indoor season ended.

Brinn Grunder was the big highlight of the day, setting a school record in the shot put. Grunder broke the outdoor record with a throw of 42'-8" (13.01m). The freshman from Durant, Iowa broke through to place fourth overall in the event.
