Logan Hopp (HWT, R-So., New Hampton, Iowa, New Hampton HS)

Earned the Heavyweight title at the Luther L. Hill Invitational hosted by Simpson College
Hopp went 4-0 on the day with three wins by fall to move to the final match (1:38, 1:44 and 6:13)
In the finals, he defeated Dean Broghammer of Grand View University, 6-5
On the season, Hopp is now 11-1 with four wins by fall

Team

Upper Iowa placed six wrestlers at the open tournament including two champions, a runner-up and fifth place and two sixth places.
Blake Sorensen joined Hopp as a champion winning the 184 pound weight class with a 4-0 record including 2 wins by fall
Jordan Rinken was the 157 pound runner-up with a 4-1 record; he picked up a pair of wins by fall (2:38 and 4:11) and an 11-0 major decision
Jordan Roths (141) earned the fifth place finish, while Colbey Vance (165) and Dalton Westerlund (174) each placed sixth
#19 Upper Iowa will head to the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis, Ind. this weekend, Sept. 13-14, for the first team-scored event of the season.
