Whitney Kieffer averaged 27 points, 13.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals over the weekend as UIU extended their win streak to three games with a win at SMSU, 71-58, on Friday before having the streak snapped by a three-point decision at Sioux Falls on Saturday, 66-63. Kieffer posted a double-double each night with 28 points and 16 boards in Marshall and 26 points and 10 rebounds in Sioux Falls. The sophomore now has five double-doubles this season. Kieffer shot 60% (21-35) from the floor and added 10 free throws in 12 attempts.

Upper Iowa won their fourth NSIC game on Friday night against Southwest Minnesota State and nearly pulled off their fifth win on Saturday, but Sioux Falls was able to hold off a final rally to win by three. Freshman post Carly Pagel also had a tremendous weekend averaging 17 points and 12.5 rebounds. Pagel recorded her first double-double on Friday and missed out on a second one by a single rebound on Saturday. As a team, the Peacocks recorded a higher shooting percentage than their opponents and brought in 7.5 more rebounds per game. UIU will host MSU Moorhead and Northern State this Friday and Saturday at Dorman Gym in Fayette; tip off for both games is scheduled for 6 p.m.
