Jim Lowery enters his ninth year as the Director of Athletics Video Production in 2024-25 and his tenth overall with the university. Lowery served as the Video Intern in the department during the 2015-16 academic year, and was hired full time in 2016.
Lowery is responsible for the production and direction of material for the Harms-Eischeid Stadium and Dorman Memorial Gymnasium video boards on game days, as well as directing broadcasts (both web and television) for soccer, volleyball, football, wrestling, basketball, softball and baseball.
Lowery came to Upper Iowa following a year as an intern and assistant director of multimedia at the University of Delaware. While at Delaware, Lowery oversaw and directed web broadcasts for many sports and supervised student staff. He also assisted in filming and editing special interest pieces.
Prior to his time with the Blue Hens, Lowery spent a year as an intern at Murray State University directing webcasting. During his time at Murray State, Lowery was the host, director and editor of the weekly coaches’ show for Olympic sports, as well as in charge of the setup and tear down of the mobile studio for games and special events.
A 2009 graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in communication and minors in business and psychology, Lowery worked as a media relations student assistant. Following graduation, Lowery worked outside of collegiate athletics for several years before returning to the industry in 2012 at Murray State.
