Clyde Logan

Clyde Logan was hired as the wide receivers coach for Upper Iowa in the summer of 2026. He brought 13 years of collegiate coaching experience to the Peacocks, including stops at Division II Midwestern State and Western New Mexico. 

Logan served as the defensive backs coach at Midwestern State in 2025. Before that, he spent two seasons at Western New Mexico as a special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach at Western New Mexico. Logan coached for 10 seasons at Southwestern College in Chula Vista, California. During his time there, he held roles as the defensive backs coach, special teams coordinator and placement coordinator before becoming the defensive coordinator for the 2022 season.

He is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, where he joined the Marine Corps out of high school. During his four years in the service, he played three years on the Marine Corps all-star football team. After the marines, he was an All-State defensive back at Mt. San Jacinto College in California, playing at the junior college level under CCCAA Hall of Fame coach Ed Carberry. Logan transferred to Idaho State for two seasons and made the transition to offense as an all-conference wide receiver. After graduation, he played professionally as a wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals and in Europe with the Ravensburg Riverbacks of the German Football League.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Idaho State. Logan continued his education at Concordia-Irvine (Calif.), where he received his master’s degree in coaching and athletics administration. He also earned a master’s in exercise science.

Logan resides with his wife, Inish, and his two sons, Zion and Zekiel.
