Anthony Yates

Anthony Yates enters his fourth season in 2019-20 as the assistant coach for both the women's and men's Upper Iowa cross country and track & field programs. Yates is the assistant for multi-events, sprints, hurdles, javelin, and jumps. Yates came to UIU after spending one season as an assistant coach for Multi-Events & Hurdles at Greenville University.

While coaching at Greenville, Yates produced 1 NCCAA runner-up All-American (60mH), 1 NCCAA placer (6th, 400H), 2 NCCAA Qualifers, 1 conference champion (400H), and 6 other All-Conference athletes. Yates competed at Greenville University for four years (2012-2015), and holds school records at GU and is in the top 5 all time for the 400mH, Pole Vault, 4x4, Indoor Heptathlon, and Outdoor Decathlon.

Yates was All-Conference 3 years in 400H, 4x4, & the Pole vault, and also placed in the 400mH (6th), 4x4 (2nd), and Indoor Pole Vault (5th) at the NCCAA National Championships.

Yates earned his Bachelor of art degree in biology from Greenville and is currently enrolled in the Masters of sports administration program at Upper Iowa.

Anthony is originally from Herrin, Illinois and is currently living in Fayette.
