Robbins comes to Upper Iowa after spending the previous five seasons at Fresno State where he started as a Strength and Conditioning Coaching Assistant in 2021, before being promoted to the Assistant Sports Performance Coach in 2022. As the Assistant Sports Performance Coach from 2022-25, Robbins helped lead Fresno State's swim and dive program, while contributing significantly to the football team's speed development and athlete performance. Under his leadership, the swim and dive program broke multiple program records, while achieving two program-bests with a 4th place finish at the 2024 Mountain West Championships and a 3rd overall finish at the 2025 Mountain West Championships. The football program also thrived under his leadership, securing three straight bowl victories from 2021-23, while winning the conference championship in 2022.

Prior to his time at Fresno State, Robbins worked as a Coaching Assistant at New Mexico State from 2019-20. He served as the lead strength coach for women's golf, women's soccer, men and women's tennis, and swimming and diving, while also supporting the football team.

Robbins also completed internships with the North Dakota State football team in 2019, and the Stanford Sports Performance program in 2018.

Robbins graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Leadership Studies from Humboldt State, and he is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Performance Coaching at Setanta College.
