Alex Kline returns for his second year with the Peacock Athletics Department as the head strength and conditioning coach. Kline began his work with Upper Iowa in the spring of 2019 as the assistant coach, but quickly was promoted to the head position. Prior to arriving in Fayette, Kline was a volunteer assistant with the strength and conditioning program at Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb.

After growing up in Artesia, California, he was a member of the Wayne State Wildcat football team as a running back from 2013-16. Kline appeared in 26 games in his three seasons and was the team's second-leading rusher as a junior in 2015 with 347 yards on 55 carries and a pair of touchdowns. He gained 645 yards during his career with five rushing touchdowns.

In the summer of 2018, Kline interned with California State University – Fullerton and worked as a performance coach at Prosport Physical Therapy & Performance.

A 2017 graduate of Wayne State, Kline earned a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science. He began a graduate assistantship earlier this year with Wayne State College Health, Human Performance and Sport Department. Kline taught undergraduate courses while pursuing his master’s degree in exercise science.
