Franklin to Wrestle for Title; Schultz and Rosol Place Fifth; Team Tied for Seventh…
#Trevor Franklin# will take the stage tonight looking for his second NCAA Championship in Pueblo, Colo. Franklin (#1 NCAA) earned the opportunity thanks to a 4-1 decision over Ryan Fillingame of Adams State College. The win improved the Peacock junior’s record to 27-0 on the season and extended his win streak to 43 straight matches. Franklin will face Andrew Pokorny of St. Cloud State University in tonight’s 133-pound final.

Inaugural NCAA Awards to be given at NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships...
INDIANAPOLIS – The first annual NCAA Wrestling Awards are set to be given out at the upcoming NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships at Massari Arena in Pueblo, Colorado Saturday evening. Leading the Most Dominant Wrestler Award standings is 165-pounder Tad Merritt of St. Cloud State with 5.00 points. The point total is calculated by adding the total number of points awarded through match results and dividing that number by the total number of matches wrestled. Merritt is trailed by teammate Jake Kahnke, who wrestlers at heavyweight and is currently listed at number two in the standings with 4.55 points. Upper Iowa’s

NCAA Adds Jordan Rinken to Championship Brackets...
The Peacocks will now be sending seven wrestlers to the NCAA Division II Championships in Pueblo, Colo. this week after the NCAA added UIU's Jordan Rinken to the list of national qualifiers. The freshman 149 pounder finished 5th at the NCAA Super Regional 3 in St. Cloud, Minn., but Steven Sandefer of the University of Indianapolis is out of the Championships. Sandefer claimed third place at the regional, but in his absence, Keenan Hagerty of Maryville University moves up to the third slot and Rinken takes over fourth.

The Peacocks, ranked #4 in the latest NWCA poll, claimed second place at the NCAA Super Regional 3 in St. Cloud, Minn. on Sunday. Upper Iowa qualified six of their ten wrestlers for the NCAA Division II Championships in Pueblo, Colo. in two weeks.
