Peacock women's basketball aims to rebound with home GLVC competition

UIU faces UIndy on Thursday at 5 p.m. and Lewis on Saturday at 1 p.m.

FAYETTE, Iowa - Peacock women's basketball (7-6, 3-2 GLVC) returns to Dorman Memorial Gymnasium for its first home games of 2026 this weekend. UIU faces UIndy (1-12, 0-5 GLVC) on Thursday at 5 p.m. and Lewis (Ill.) (7-6, 3-2 GLVC) on Saturday at 1 p.m.

TICKET INFORMATION
New this year, tickets for all Peacock home events can be purchased digitally at tickets.uiu.edu. Single game tickets are now available online and at the ticket booth on gameday. If you want to pay in person, both Harms-Eischeid Stadium and Dorman Memorial Gymnasium are now accepting all major credit cards, checks and cash.

Fans can access the interactive and digital gameday program any time at UIUPeacocks.com/Programs. The digital programs are available to fans at our games and to those watching at home. QR Codes will be located around the gym to scan with your cell phone's camera, which will link you directly to that game's specific digital gameday program.

LAST TIME OUT
The Peacocks lost two games in St. Louis, Missouri, this past weekend. Upper Iowa fell, 79-69, to Maryville (Mo.) (10-4, 4-2 GLVC) and lost, 72-50, to Missouri-St. Louis (10-2, 6-0 GLVC). This marked UIU's first conference losses of the season. 

Junior guard Ava Privet scored 20 points against the Saints for her second-most this season. Maryville got a 42-4 scoring advantage from its bench. Leading 50-49 in the third quarter, MU ended the period with a 7-0 run. The Peacocks couldn't quite make the comeback in the fourth quarter to fall by 10. 

Missouri-St. Louis held Upper Iowa to 1-of-10 during the final seven minutes of the second quarter and took advantage with a 16-2 run to lead 42-27 at halftime. The Tritons maintained that lead throughout the second half, and the Peacocks finished the game with their lowest shooting mark in a conference contest this season at 30%.

Ellie Foster led the Peacocks with 11 points, six rebounds and two steals. Sydnee Nelson added 10 points, six rebounds and an assist while Kendyl Lodermeier totaled eight points, five rebounds and two blocks. 

STATISTICAL LEADERS
Foster leads the Peacocks in points per game, averaging 12.8. She also averages 2.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game. The graduate ranks 14th in the GLVC in points per game. 

Privet isn't too far behind at 12.1 points per game. The junior guard has also added 4.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game while shooting 42.5% from the field and 42% from behind the arc. She ranks third in the GLVC in 3-point percentage and first in 3-pointers per game (2.6). Privet is 17th in the nation in total 3-pointers. 

Lodermeier is averaging 10.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting a team-best 51.9% from the field. The freshman ranks seventh in the conference in field goal percentage.

Bryar Duwe averages 8.8 points, 2.8 assists and a team-high 5.5 rebounds per game. She's tied for 17th in the GLVC in rebounds per game. Nelson is scoring 8.2 points per game while dishing out a team-high 3.5 assists per game. She's third in the GLVC in assists per game. 

The Peacocks are averaging 66.1 points per game (eighth in the GLVC) and are giving up 67.6 points per game (10th in the GLVC). UIU is shooting 34.2% from behind the arc, and has made 105 3-pointers, ranking fourth and second in the conference, respectively. Upper Iowa averages 13.92 assists per game, ranking fourth in the GLVC. 

AROUND THE GLVC
Missouri-St. Louis and Drury (Mo.) (8-4, 5-0 GLVC) are both undefeated in conference play, each winning three straight games. Truman State (Mo.) (7-6, 4-1 GLVC) has won three straight games to take third place with one conference loss. 

Maryville, McKendree (Ill.) (6-5, 3-2 GLVC), Upper Iowa and Lewis (Ill.) all have two losses in GLVC play. Rockhurst (Mo.) (6-5, 2-3 GLVC), Missouri S&T (6-5, 2-3 GLVC), Quincy (Ill.) (5-7, 2-3 GLVC) and Illinois Springfield (5-8, 2-3 GLVC) are one game back with three losses. 

Missouri-St. Louis' Mara Reider was named GLVC Player of the Week after averaging 23.5 points and 10 rebounds this past weekend. She dropped 23 points vs. Quincy and 24 points vs. Upper Iowa. Rieder is the leading scorer in the GLVC, averaging 20.5 points per game. 

ABOUT THE GREYHOUNDS - Thursday at 5 p.m.
Thursday's game is the third of a four-game road stretch for the Greyhounds. UIndy fell this past weekend by 10 points in each game to Illinois Springfield and McKendree. The Greyhounds' only win was before the holiday break in a 16-point victory vs. Ohio Dominican (5-7). 

Senior guard Patricia Chikamba leads UIndy, averaging 15.4 points per game. She recently tied her season-high with 24 points against McKendree. Chikamba also leads the team in rebounds per game with 5.8, and is tied for the team lead in assists with 1.9. She ranks fourth in the GLVC in points per game. 

Junior guard Autumn Rucker is averaging 11.5 points per game with a season-high 23 against Purdue Northwest (Ind.) on Dec. 13. Amyrah Sapenter is scoring 9.1 points per game, and Graycie Poe is adding 8.2 points per game. 

Indianapolis averages 58.3 points per game while giving up 70.2 points per game, both ranking 13th in the GLVC. 

Head coach Jama Sharp is in her second season with the Greyhounds. She has a 9-32 record entering this weekend at UIndy. 

ABOUT THE FLYERS - Saturday at 1 p.m.
Lewis enters on a five-game winning streak, most recently defeating McKendree and Maryville this past weekend. Sophomore guard Yahaira Bueno scored a season-high 24 points in the 16-point win over the Saints. The Flyers do not have a game on Thursday, making Upper Iowa their only game this weekend. 

Bueno averages a team-high 13.8 points and 3.9 assists per game. She's tied for 10th in the GLVC in points per game and is second in the conference in assists per game. Bueno adds 1.5 steals and 2.5 rebounds per game. 

Junior guard Ally Cesarini is also a double-digit scorer, averaging 11 points per game. She adds 4.8 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.4 assists per game. Cesarini leads the conference in steals per game and has totaled 11 more than any other GLVC player this season. 

Redshirt junior Mallory Ramage is averaging 10.7 points per game and scored 18 this past weekend against McKendree. Sophomore forward Jasmine Jones adds 9.4 points per game and a team-high 6.4 rebounds per game. She's tied for eighth in the GLVC in rebounds per game. 

The Flyers average 65.4 points per game, ranking 11th in the GLVC. On defense, Lewis is giving up 58.2 points per game, the fourth-best total in the conference. The Flyers are shooting 44.2% from the field, the second-highest mark in the conference. They have a 0.94 assist/turnover margin, also ranking second. 

Dodie Dudson Jr. is in his first season as the head coach for the Flyers. He spent the previous two seasons as an associate head coach at the University of Evansville (Ind.).
