GLVC STANDINGS… The Peacocks have gone 10-11 on the season, with a 7-8 GLVC record. UIU achieved this seventh win of conference play in dominating fashion this past weekend, as they took down Lincoln by a score of 66-41 at home. This victory helped put them at eighth in the GLVC Point Rating System, meaning they would clinch the final spot in the playoffs if the season ended today. The Peacocks will also have a great opportunity to move up in the standings this weekend, as Missouri-St. Louis and Maryville currently rank fourth and fifth in the GLVC. In their previous meetings, Maryville snuck by with an 80-79 win over UIU, and the Peacocks held UMSL to a season-low 44 points as they achieved a 56-44 victory at Dorman.
MILESTONE IN THE MAKING… Kayla Bohr is only three points away from scoring 1,000 points over her collegiate career, between Wisconsin-Parkside and Upper Iowa. Bohr has been the leading scorer in the Peacocks past three games as she scored 21-points on Southwest Baptist, 16 against Lincoln and 15 vs. Missouri S&T. She ranks second on the team with an average of 12.9 points per game, but has improved that total to 14.7 points per game since the start of January. Bohr has shot 42.8% from the floor, 39.1% from beyond the arc and has added 4.0 rebounds per game.
INCREASING THE STREAK… Mia Huberty has extended her school-record streak of scoring in double figures for 19 games in a row. She scored ten points with four boards in the Peacock victory over Lincoln and followed that up by dropping 13 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals against Missouri S&T. Huberty has remained the GLVC's leading scorer since the first conference game of the season as she is averaging 18.6 points per game. She has shot 44.3% from the field, 44.0% from three-point range and has recorded 5.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game on the year.
ON THE RISE… Ava Privet scored ten points in the Peacocks past two matches, while converting four three pointers and averaging 5.0 rebounds per game. She ranks third on the squad with an average of 8.2 points per game while shooting 42.3% from the floor and 37.5% from three.
PEACOCK SEASON HIGHS…
MATCH-UP WITH MARYVILLE… The Saints recorded an 11-11 mark on the year while going 9-5 in the conference. They have won seven of their last nine games in the GLVC and are currently on a three-game winning streak. Senior Gracie Stugart is averaging 9.8 points per game on the year while ranking fifth in the conference with 8.4 rebounds per game. Stugart also leads the GLVC by dishing out 7.6 assists per game, while recording the best assist-turnover ratio at 2.6. She has appeared in 239 out of 240 minutes over Maryville's past six games, and she hauled in a season-high 16 rebounds against Missouri S&T while recording 14 points and eight assists. Fifth year Claire Rake has scored a team-best 11.2 points per game and she is coming off a season-high 22-point performance against Illinois Springfield where she shot 8-13 from the floor and 6-9 from the three-point line. She leads the GLVC with an average of 2.8 made three's a game, while shooting 34.9% from beyond the arc.
MIGHTY MISSOURI-ST. LOUIS… The Tritons have posted a 17-5 record while going 11-4 in the conference. They have won eight of their last ten games, which included a four-game win streak following their loss to Upper Iowa. UMSL has used the same starting five every game this year, where they are led by freshman Katie Hamill. Hamill is putting up 11.5 points per game on 40.1% shooting with 5.3 rebounds per game. She has recorded two double doubles on the year and ranks second on the team with 1.4 steals per game. Junior Morgan Ramthun has added an average of 8.5 points and she ranks third in the GLVC with 9.0 rebounds per game. She has hauled in at least six rebounds in every game this season while posting five double doubles. Junior Alex Wolff has scored 11.1 points per game on 49.0% shooting and senior Audrey Martinez-Stewart has recorded a team-high 2.0 steals per game.
