The Peacocks faced one of their toughest challenges of the season as they went up against the 21-5 Drury Panthers. Despite a great effort from the Peacocks, Drury was able to prevail in a 79-62 game.
Kayla Bohr opened the scoring with a made layup and
Brooke Evenson started the game 2-2 from beyond the three-point line to give the Peacocks an early lead.
Mia Huberty scored on a layup and a three pointer to push the UIU lead to 17-13, and Valentino would add another three at the two-minute mark. The Peacocks shot 9-15 from the floor in the first, ending the quarter with a one-point lead.
Bohr scored consecutive two-point jumpers to start the second quarter scoring for Upper Iowa before scoring her tenth point of the half at the 3:40 mark. She followed that up by assisting on Valentino's second three pointer of the gave which boosted the UIU lead to 33-26.
Katie Tornstrom scored the final bucket on a turn around jumper with seven seconds remaining to wrap-up a quarter where the Peacocks only allowed nine points, holding Drury to 4-12 shooting while forcing six turnovers.
The Peacocks pushed their lead to 12 with Huberty and Bohr converting on two-point jumpers to begin the third. Drury was able to score eleven consecutive points as they were able to successfully attack the basket, making three layups in the process.
Alaina Brenning put an end to their run, making a contested layup and a pair of free throws by Evenson would make it a 46-41 game. Drury sharpshooter Caitlynn Daniels responded with a pair of three points and a Panther steal and fastbreak layup gave them a 49-46 lead. Bohr was able to score UIU's final three points of the quarter at the free throw line, but the Panthers were able to maintain a 53-49 lead at the end of the third.
Evenson cashed her third three pointer of the game to start the fourth and Bohr added a midrange jumper which cut the Drury lead to one. Drury was able to force numerous fouls, scoring their first five points at the free throw line and another Daniels three pointer helped increase their lead to 64-56. The Panthers never looked back as they would go on to win 79-62.
Kayla Bohr matched her season-high, scoring 17 points on 7-12 shooting to lead all scorers for UIU.
Brooke Evenson added 13 points, shooting 3-7 from beyond the arc while adding two assists.

Mia Huberty finished with 11 points, six rebounds, and blocked a team-high two shots.
Alaina Brenning scored nine points on 4-8 shooting, recording a season-high three steals.
Katie Tornstrom wrapped up her day with six points while recording team-highs with 11 rebounds and five assists.
The Peacocks final game of the regular season will be on the road against Southwest Baptist on Saturday, Mar. 2 at 1 p.m.
